Thank You!

The 2019 Bear Hug Brawl VIII was another great success. We couldn't have done it without the support of each and every one of you. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you all again the summer of 2020!

Photos from Bear Hug Brawl VI are now online!! See the new gallery below along with galleries from all the previous years!

The Bear Hug Brawl Classic is an Annual Junior Varsity Football Jamboree for Lancaster County Teams to kick off the season. Andrew Jackson High School, Buford High School, Indian Land High School and Lancaster High School JV teams play two 20 minute halves against two of the other teams that day. The games are hosted by Buford High School each year.

The event is a great way to acknowledge the JV Squads, while enjoying a fun filled day with games, prizes and cheerleading competitions. All proceeds from this event finance the kind of community enrichment programs and scholarships that can change the face of Lancaster County for the better.

Where did the name come from…? Seth loved to give hugs, big bear hugs. In our house there is a long hallway, and Seth would come running down the hall to give you one of those hugs. If you didn’t brace yourself for impact you were both going down. When he started playing football we told him to just give the other guy one of your bear hugs and that would certainly stop them in their tracks. The name just fits.
